A new restaurant, that's more kiwi than an All black waving a silver fern on Waitangi day, opens it's doors in London
Kia Ora! Welcome to the Kiwi Kitchen.
Taranaki Chef, Matt Jans is proud to open his first restaurant in West London, offering innovative and inspiring cuisine from a kitchen that cares.
After travelling around Europe and the Americas, Matt decided to give London something it was sadly missing, a restaurant where quality and customer service are paramount - in other words a true taste of New Zealand.
The menu is crammed full of delectable dishes all made from first class ingredients, from Paua fritters to kumara chips, from Green lip mussels to Hokey Pokey ice cream - if you love NZ, you'll love the Kiwi Kitchen.
It's taken weeks of phone calls and research to be able to bring the best of New Zealand all the way to London! Matt certainly set his partner Julia a task when he gave her his wish list of ingredients - the only one she failed to be able to import was of course NZ whitebait - one of natures wonders that the kiwi's are keen to keep to themselves! She had some fun finding a supplier of Paua, after speaking with every fish importer and wholesaler in the UK, she resorted to importing the delicacy directly from NZ.
Open seven days a week. Lunch 12 -3pm Mon - Sat Dinner 6-10pm Tues - Sat Sunday Brunch from 12-5pm
The Kiwi Kitchen is part of Baroque, a chilled out cocktail lounge that Matt runs with his partner Julia. Baroque offers a good range of New Zealand wines and spirits, Feijoa & Manuka honey Vodka, South Gin, Kiwi schnapps and of course the 'World famous in New Zealand' L&P mixer!
